I have a familiar quiet place.
It helps me focus.
It helps me write.
It makes me feel very chill.
I can shut the door of this place behind me as I enter the realm of peace where no one can bother me.
The bonus is that this place is available everywhere I go, in others houses, hotels, hostels, and even on the odd occasion a tent.
This place is… BED.

I am telling the full story of this discovery and experience as it happened, complete with a video short, in Beyond The Surface this week.
I invite you to join me.
Do you have a place you can go…
…a place to rest and recharge?
I am grateful to have an amazing pine forest near where I live.
I can go there and pretty much not see anyone, except for the birds and squirrels.
On one occasion I saw 2 stags running through the undergrowth. That was magical.
This is one of my favourite nearby places to be alone, walk and think, in that order.
I share some pictures I took recently:
This place never fails to inspire and reset my brain.
